Family Account Overview

How family accounts work in Scribble: one email per family, profiles per child, billing, and where adults manage things.

A Scribble family account has one email address for the whole family. Each child gets their own student profile under that account. All profiles share the same email for sign-in.

How a family is structured

  1. One adult email owns the family account. That adult is the family owner.
  2. Each child gets a profile with their own learning state — their own progress, XP, streaks, and reports.
  3. Adults sign into the iPad using the family email and a one-time code, then pick which child is practicing.
  4. Adults sign into the web dashboard to add profiles, view reports, and manage billing.

One email — why?

Children under 13 generally don't have their own email accounts. A single family email keeps things simple and keeps you in control of sign-in for every profile.

Billing at a glance

Family plans are priced per profile:

  • $1,000 for the first student profile.
  • $500 for each additional profile in the same family.

Each profile has one year of access from that profile's purchase date. We honor refunds within seven days of purchase, no questions asked. See Billing and renewal for details.

What adults can do

  • Add and archive student profiles.
  • View each child's progress, daily XP, streaks, legibility scores, and letters-per-minute.
  • Adjust each child's daily XP goal.
  • Invite a second adult as an admin (no extra cost — adult accounts are separate from student-profile purchases).

What adults can't do

Adults can see everything but cannot rewrite their child's progress. XP, streaks, and curriculum progression are owned by the server — they reflect what the child actually practiced.
