Getting Started

Choose Your Path

Pick the setup that fits: family at home, a non-Alpha school classroom, or an Alpha school with Timeback SSO.

Scribble works the same way for every student on iPad, but how adults set up access depends on who you are.

Families

You're a parent or guardian setting up Scribble for one or more children at home.

  • Sign-in: One email address per family. You sign in with a one-time code (OTP) sent to that email.
  • Profiles: One profile per child, each with their own learning state.
  • Billing: $1,000 for the first student profile, $500 for each additional profile in the same family.
  • Where you manage things: The web dashboard, for adding profiles and viewing reports. Daily practice happens on iPad.

Schools (non-Alpha)

You're a teacher or administrator at a school that is not part of Alpha. Your students will sign into Scribble with their own email address.

  • Sign-in: Each student has their own email. They sign in on iPad with a one-time code (OTP) sent to that email.
  • Profiles: Student profiles are created and managed by staff on the web dashboard.
  • Billing: School plans, contact us for pricing.
  • Where you manage things: The web dashboard, for student profiles, member access, and reports.

Alpha schools

You're at an Alpha-network school. Students sign in with Timeback SSO.

  • Sign-in: Students enter their Timeback email, then continue through Google SSO. There is no OTP step.
  • Profiles: Rosters sync from Timeback automatically. Staff don't create student profiles by hand.
  • Billing: Handled at the school level through Alpha.
  • Where you manage things: The web dashboard, for linkage status and reports only — not roster creation.

Next, set up the iPad

Whichever path you're on, every student needs the same hardware setup.
