Data Retention
Scribble keeps account, student, learning, support, and operational information only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and maintain reliable records.

Retention Principles
- We retain active account, organization, family, and student records while Scribble is providing the service.
- We retain learning records while they are needed for learning continuity, reporting, support, and educational purposes.
- We remove or de-identify records when they are no longer needed, unless a legal, security, contractual, or audit obligation requires retention.
- We keep backups and operational logs for limited periods before they are overwritten or deleted through normal retention cycles.
Student Learning Records
Learning records include student profiles, curriculum state, session drafts, handwriting attempts, activity results, scores, XP awards, and reporting snapshots. These records support student practice continuity and authorized reporting.
Session Drafts
Active session drafts are temporary resumable state. Scribble may discard stale, expired, completed, or explicitly abandoned drafts without affecting completed learning records.
Deletion Requests
Parents, guardians, schools, and authorized administrators may request deletion, export, correction, or retention review for account, student, family, or organization records. Requests are reviewed against account authority, school instructions where applicable, contract terms, legal obligations, and security needs.
